Ms Kirstin Bilham

I graduated from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) with a degree in Biology in 2010 and went on to complete my MSc at the University of Oxford.  During this course, I carried out two separate research projects with WildCRU.  The first was a questionnaire-based study on the effect of landscape and husbandry variables on honeybee survival and productivity.  And the second – as part of my dissertation project – I looked into age-related changes in antioxidant capacity in the European Badger.

I officially joined WildCRU at the start of my DPhil in January 2012 to continue work on the European badger, now studying the role of immuno-ecology (mainly oxidative stress and parasitology) in shaping life-history traits and trade-offs.
